MDS Coordinator
We’re looking for an RN candidate to oversee the coordination of the inter-disciplinary care plan team and nursing staff to conduct federally mandated assessments and plans of care of all residents at our skilled nursing facility.
The MDS RN will be responsible for collecting integral, MDS assessment and CAAs data from each resident on a required, timely basis. They will then code it into a computerized report assuring accuracy, and write a plan of care for all employees to meet each resident’s care needs. This information will be submitted to a repository to determine Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement rates for services.
This MDS RN will also act as our Medicare Coordinator, facilitate all resident and family care conferences, and help aid new resident referrals and admissions, including communicating pertinent, need to know information to the team.
Requirements:
Ability to study and learn quickly through a combination of online courses, in person with consultants and attending outside education
Willing to complete AANAC Certification for MDS Coordinator
Willing to complete, learn, and apply ICD-10 coding education
EHR Computer Experience (Point Click Care)
Knowledge of clinical and Federal regulations and Standards of Practice will be a valuable asset
Ability to work independently and/or with a team of outstanding leaders in the field
