Business Office Manager

Full-time position, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

The Business Office Manager is responsible for the following duties and responsibilities which are considered essential functions of the position:

  • Report to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Implements and follows established policies, procedures and performance standards to personnel, residents, resident family members, community and federal agencies, and consultants.
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to work cooperatively with facility Administrator, Sunrise personnel, residents, families and other agencies.
  • Communicates problems and concerns immediately to the Administrator.
  • Completes delegated duties of Administrator completely, accurately, and timely.
  • Practices efficient utilization of supplies and equipment.
  • Gathers and forwards information needed for contracted agency to prepare billing of Medicare A, B, and C claims.
  • Collaborates with residents and responsible parties on financial matters, such as assisting Social Worker in Medicaid applications.
  • Responsible for collection of private pay accounts receivables.
  • Collaborates with Administrator on payments of accounts payable invoices.
  • Gathers and forwards information needed for contracted agency for accounts payable.
  • Directs payments of vendors on monthly basis.
  • Coordinates with BCG on printing of checks.
  • Complete admission and financial paperwork for all new residents.
  • Coordinates and oversees hiring and onboarding for all new employees, completing pre and post new hire paperwork.
  • Creates and maintains all employee personnel and confidential files.
  • Maintain administrative files including but not limited to, resident billing files, OSHA log 200, Worker’s Compensation, Medicare and Medicaid files.
  • Process Workers Compensation paperwork, assist with scheduling appointments when needed, track FMLA absences, etc.
  • Maintain resident trust accounts, balancing monthly
  • Process bi-monthly payroll, provide manual adjustments, keep an accurate account of all employee hours, vacation, and sick time.
  • Collect and deliver resident mail.
  • Complete reports for monthly and quarterly Quality Assurance meetings.
  • Maintains resident information and follows HIPAA.
  • Preserves resident rights and dignity.
  • Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Charge Nurse and Administrator.
  • Participates in special community events as part of the management team.
  • Participates in regular education to learn role and changes in state and federal regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations.
  • Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must be able to meet the general health requirements set forth by State regulations and Company policy.
  • Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 15 pounds to a minimum height of 4 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such a weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, perform overhead lifting, and perform other common physical movements as needed for your position.
